According to PÁIR data from the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI), the production price of raw milk was HUF 145.55/kg in April 2022. Raw milk’s average price was up 4% in comparison with March 2022 and it was 30% higher than in April 2021. Raw milk’s export price was HUF 160.9/kg, 5% higher than in March 2022 and 61% higher than in April 2021.
On Week 19 the price of domestic pea was HUF 2,400/kg at the Budapest Wholesale Market, costing 9% more than on the same week of 2021. Domestically grown fresh potato cost HUF 475/kg on the same week – this price was 19% higher than a year earlier. Statistical data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show that Hungary’s live pig export dropped 32% to 3.3 thousand tonnes in January-February 2022, in comparison with the same period of 2021. Our live pig import reduced by 33%. We sold 4.5% more pork in foreign markets at 24 thousand tonnes; value sales were up 11%. Hungary’s pork import grew by 25% in volume (30 thousand tonnes) and 26% in value. //
