Bread prices may jump from September
Due to the more expensive flour and due to the weak forint bread prices are expected to grow by 25-30 percent.
Septe József, president of the Hungarian Baker’s Association told Napi Gazdaság that the price increase may come in September. The president said that the move would be in time several years ago, but now it can not be postponed further. After this year's worse-than-expected quality corn, the flour prices may increase by even 30 percent, and due to the high euro exchange rates, the price of imported raw materials also increased.
