Demand for Hungarian wines dropped by one third
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) reveal that 3 percent less slaughter turkey was sold in Hungary in the first nine months of 2012, its live weight production price was HUF 369.5/kg – 3 percent higher than a year before. Volume sales of 10 (M and L size) eggs in a box were 6 percent lower in the first nine months of 2012, but at the same time its HUF 24.90 price/piece at the place of packaging was 46 percent higher than in the base period. Sales of wine produced in Hungary dropped by 31 percent, but their sales price was 18 percent higher than in the first nine months of 2011. The average production price of raw milk was HUF 81.51 per kilogram in September 2012, up 3 percent from August.
