At the Plum Days of Szarvas, between 13-15 September, not only unique local plum jam will be made in the cauldrons, but according to the traditions the locals will prepare everything from the cookbook of the Grandma, everything from plum: plum prunes, plum jam, plum sauce meat dishes, and many other specialties.

The Plum Days of Szarvas, which is one of the city's most important event, is held since 1998, for the seventeenth time in 2013. The participants of the event can taste and buy handcrafted plum foods, drinks, and enjoy folk arts and cultural programs. The location of the free event is the Erzsébet-liget (Erzsébet-grove), but several side events and programs will take place in the nearby Szarvas Water Theatre, one of country's most unique theater.
