Tradition, innovation and creativity, this is what drives us forward. We have laid the foundations for the future of the Hungarian sugar industry in Szerencs for the next generation! – the Minister of Culture and Innovation wrote in his Facebook video published on Friday.

“The first step in getting to know a community is to understand it, then to feel its identity” – Balázs Hankó highlighted in the video.

“When I was here last year, I understood how deeply rooted the Szerencs Sugar Factory and its history are in the souls of the people of Szerencs” – added the Minister, who laid the foundation stone of the Sectoral Knowledge Center in Szerencs on Thursday.

“Tradition and innovation, which characterizes us, Hungarians: tradition, which we can be proud of our more than thousand-year-old history, innovation and creativity, which take us as far as possible in many areas of life“

– he said.

He said that through the exhibition and memorial park, the tradition and the past of the sugar factory will be preserved for future generations.

Balázs Hankó praised the importance of innovation and emphasized that with the center “we have laid the foundation for the future of the sector and the sugar industry here in Szerencs”.

“This is how tradition is connected with innovation, so the past of the wonderful Hungarian nation shows us a clear and certain future. God bless the community of Szerencs!” – emphasized Balázs Hankó.
