Soon there will be an ATM in every Hungarian settlement with over 2,000 inhabitants, the government welcomes the decision of the banking association
The government is working to ensure that every Hungarian settlement has at least one ATM. Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy is continuously negotiating and negotiating with the banking association on the nationwide expansion of the ATM network. The bank representatives understood the government’s expectations and undertook to start installing ATMs in settlements with over 2,000 inhabitants in the first round – the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) announced on Tuesday.
The government welcomes the decision of the banking association, but at the same time asks the banks to ensure as quickly as possible, keeping in mind the needs of the Hungarian population, that every settlement with a population of over 2,000 has a banknote dispensing machine.
The government continues to count on the constructive cooperation of the banks, and at the same time draws their attention to the fact that in the second round, they should also start installing ATMs in settlements with over 1,000 inhabitants that do not have an ATM
– the NGM emphasized.
In order to help rural people and increase the retention power of rural areas, the government’s goal is to have at least one bank ATM in every Hungarian settlement, so that families can benefit from the possibility of free cash withdrawals in their own settlements as widely as possible. Therefore, according to the government decree published on Monday, all existing ATMs must be operated and cannot be dismantled.
