The burger of the country will soon be on the menu

At least four thousand people came to the Szaft ‘N Burger picnic and competition, and the 90 entries and 17 teams represented more than 100 competitors, and more than 2,500 burgers were prepared in a few hours in the Great Forest. According to the jury, some of the burgers of the younger masters of the junior field would have held their own in the professional field as well, it is no wonder that the most populous field appeared in the professional category, where 30 people competed for the title of burger of the country.

Tamás Valkó, winner of the title of burger of the country this year represents a restaurant in Debrecen. The jury emphasized that the competitive burger category is very difficult, and many people overthink the ingredients – most of the time, the best burgers can be made with the “less is more” principle. The burger of the winner of the professional category is a simple but perfectly flavored dish, which, according to the plans, the public in Debrecen will soon be able to taste in the kitchen of the winner’s restaurant.

Caramelized onions (with honey and Worcestershire sauce)

We learned from András Sebestyén that he tasted great meats, beautifully prepared and served, in the steak roasting competition organized for the first time this year. He was so honored to lead the jury of Szaft ‘N Burger that he personally offered 2 tickets to the Real Madrid match to the champion of the steak competition, László Batta, in addition to the prize money of the competition. It is a fun fact that András works together with his friend, Real Madrid star David Alaba, and his family in his restaurant in Vienna.
