Eggs may soon cost 100 HUF
Since the price of fodder is one of the biggest cost factors for livestock keepers, war and drought send the price of not only fodder, but also meat, eggs and milk skyrocketing. If that weren’t enough, energy is also becoming more expensive, and livestock farms also use electricity and gas. The increase in price is already amazing, and you can’t see where it will end – writes Telex.

Eggs are one of the fastest growing food items
In all livestock sectors, Hungarian farmers expect a decrease in stock and a further increase in the price of animal products. Prices are no longer only driven up by feed prices, but also by rising utility and fuel costs, and even packaging material is becoming more expensive.
“Almost every additional cost element in the manufacturing industry – logistics, chemicals, work clothes, waste water costs, etc. – rises unpredictably and constantly”
– said Zoltán Harcz, managing director of the Tej Trade Organization and Product Council, in response to Telex’s questions. According to him, despite the fact that the international press has repeatedly written about the slight drop in grain prices in recent weeks, a decrease in feed prices is not expected in Hungary, in fact most people are expecting a further increase in prices.
