If Italian cuisine, then Cucinare, II.
The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) at the request of the Pordenone Fiere Exhibition and Conference Centre invited the delegation of the representatives of Hungarian companies, magazines and professional journalists to the Cucinare professional trade fair to the city of Pordenone. One colleague of Trade magazine was among the guests at the second edition of the fair – she talks about her experiences. (Part 2).
We visited three wineries in the Friuli province. The trip was organized by the Pordenone Fiere and I.C.E. ell. First, we visted the Piera Martellozzo winery that is farming on 7500 hectares. From the plantation 50 kilogramme of grapes are harvested. They produce and distribute 12 – 13 varieties of wine each year. The winery was founded in the seventies, and the current owners purchased it 12 years ago; Today, its is among the largest wineries in Europe. Every year, five million bottles are marketed of which 50 percent is exported, mainly to Canada, the United States and Europe, where the main export markets include Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania. The most popular product of the winery is the Prosecco sparkling wine, but excellent Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes are also produced at the winery.
The second winery was a mid category winery the I Magredi. Its owner Massimiliano Loca personally guided us through. As he pointed out, I Magredi means quality since 1968. The IMagredi produce grapes on 60 hectares and markets 250,000 bottles a year, the rest is flowing wine.
We would like to thank the high-quality organizing for Kiss Zsuzsanna, market research manager of ICE. As we learned from her, the institution founded by the Italian government supports the foreign economic activities of the Italian companies, in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Economics. Its head office is in Rome but also has a network of foreign trade offices worldwide. The Budapest office has been operating since 1968, so it was established among the first foreign ICE offices. They constantly organize trips abroad to Hungarian purchasers and journalists. Their main objective is to find partners among the Italian firms that contact to them.
