The world celebrates the coffee on 29 September
The initiative started in the eighties from Japan, that coffee and the coffee culture should be celebrated on 29 September each year. Since 2009 the world's coffee day is celebrated officially. NESCAFÉ’s team celebrates the coffee with 17 surprising facts.
Although many consider the best coffee are from Italy, and the largest coffee producing countries can be found in South America, the coffee culture comes from Africa, specifically from Yemen, which is not surprising, because the coffee shrub is native in the other side of the Red Sea in Ethiopia. However, since then centuries have passed, and now the coffee has become the world's second most popular drink after the water.
