Economic growth in the euro area accelerated in February
Economic growth in the euro area accelerated significantly more than expected, according to the preliminary value of the Purchasing Managers’ Index from the IHS Markit Economic Research Institute in London on Monday.
Of the euro area purchasing managers’ indices (PMI), the manufacturing index was slightly weaker than expected in February, while the value of the services index and the composite index improved more than expected compared with January.
Manufacturing PMI fell to a two-month low of 58.4 points in February, down from 58.7 points in January. (MTI)
