Accelerating competition between retailers lead by discounters
Aldi and Pennydropped their prices by up to 19% on a range of products, including vegetable oil, bread, cheese and yogurt.
German food giant Edeka has announced
that it plans to introduce price cuts across its eponymous-branded
stores as well as its Netto discount chain. A spokesman for the
company said the price cuts will affect products such as bread,
cheese and chocolate, and will be introduced this week.
Since the financial crisis in September
the discounters push down the food prices all over the world and
retailer must to follow them.
