Retail sales grew rapidly last year in the Czech Republic
Last year, retail sales rose by 5.9 percent in the Czech Republic. Sales growth was so high as in 2008 – the Czech Statistical Office announced on Thursday in Prague.
As usually, sales have grown at a rapid pace before Christmas. Annual growth was 6.8 percent in November and 6.7 percent in December.
The fuel sales last year rose by eight percent. In this segment, a 12.5 percent growth was measured in December, on an annual basis. (MTI, Kokes János)
