Economic activity in the euro area weakened in January
In January, euro area economic activity declined more than expected, according to preliminary data from a survey of procurement managers at the IHS Markit Economic Research Institute in London.
The decline in performance mainly affected the service sector, where performance continued to deteriorate, compared to December, while manufacturing continued to show performance growth, albeit less dynamic than in December. Overall, euro area economic performance declined in January compared with December. (MTI)
