Retail sales in the euro area started weakly in the third quarter
Retail sales started weakly in the third quarter, but performance in July is not a cause for concern for household consumption.
The European Union Bureau of Statistics (Eurostat) announced on Wednesday that seasonally adjusted data show a decline of 0.6 percent in the 19-member euro area, compared to the previous month, but a 2.2 percent year-on-year increase in retail sales occured in July. (MTI)
