Poor harvest is expected
There is not any Hungarian wine region, which could be fully satisfied with the harvest this year – said Csaba Horváth, the Secretary-General of the National Council of Wine Communities (HNT).
It looks certain, that the harvest will be 2.5 million hectoliters, which is far below the average of the previous years. The majority of the grape growers complains for the low yield and for grape diseases, but there are also farmers who have harvested a record crop. In the Great Plains rain caused problems, so much rain fell at several places, that it was impossible to defend the grapes – reports Népszabadság Online.
