Poor year start for Heineken
The sales of world's leading brewery, the Amsterdam-based Heineken group, decreased by 3.5 percent to 2.94 billion euros in the first quarter of 2010, compared to the same period of 2009.
The turnover volume (without capacity expansions and job losses) decreased by 5.3 percent. The 40 percent strait at the Russian market played a major role in the decrease, which was mainly due to the threefold increase of the local beer tax – reports Világgazdaság Online.
