GVH: the online price monitoring system also contributed to the favorable development of food prices
In addition to government and central bank measures, the online price monitoring system operated by the Economic Competition Authority (GVH) also contributed to the favorable development of food prices, the competition authority told MTI on Friday.
It is recalled that according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday, inflation decreased from 7.9 percent in November to 5.5 percent in December in an annual comparison. Compared to the last month of 2022, the increase in food prices in December 2023 was 4.8 percent, which is a further decrease of 2.3 percentage points compared to the 7.1 percent value measured in November 2023. In December 2023 – compared to the previous month – food prices decreased by an average of 0.1 percent.
