GVH: the price monitoring system will protect Hungarian families from price increases even after the first of August
The Economic Competition Authority (GVH) strictly monitors the implementation of inflation and price reduction measures, the online price monitoring system operated by the office will protect Hungarian families from price increases even after the introduction of the price cap, even after the first of August – emphasized Balázs Csaba Rigó, president of the GVH, on Tuesday at M1 on the current channel.
He explained that a number of competition supervision procedures are underway in the food sector, and he mentioned as an example that, among other things, suspicions of price-fixing violations are being investigated.
Balázs Csaba Rigó emphasized that consumers paid attention to the development of prices and bought less due to the increase in prices. He added that retail demand should be restored by breaking down inflation and increasing real wages.
He said that GVH’s task is to stimulate competition, for example by operating the price monitoring system. Since the operation of the price monitoring system, which was launched on the first of July, there have already been 753 thousand unique visitors and 52 million downloads.
