Grüne Woche: Hungarian food products in the focus of international interest
Gráf József Minister of Agriculture informed 80 German and foreign journalists over the wide supply and high quality of Hungarian food, on Thursday afternoon’s press conference at the Berlin Fair.
In Thursday evening, the Grüne Woche one of the most prestigious international food fair opened its gates. The ceremonial opening started with the participation of Hungarian dancers and Musicians, in the International Conference Center.
A total of 41 Hungarian companies are exhinbiting at the community stand of the Agricultural Center, which took out an entire hall for the first time. Beside the well-known companies such as Bonbonetti, Cerbona, Hungerit and Univer, small-and medium-sized enterprises are also presented their offerings.
The Thursday, before the opening is traditionally the day of political events. Ilse Aigner German Food Agriculture and Consumer Protection Minister predicted the 30 percent increase of vegetable oil prices. She expects milk price increase and meat price stagnation.
Gráf József stressed that Hungary is among the few central and eastern European countries that sells more goods to Germany than to import.
From Friday 1600 exhibitors, from 56 countries are waiting for the usual 400 thousand visitors, throught 10 days. They can meet with thousands of "Ungarn" labels and pepper logos.
On Saturday, more than 50 Minister of Agriculture will discuss the interactions of agriculture and climate change in Berlin, as the accompanying program of Grüne Woche – reports Trade magzin’s correspondent Bajai Ernő from Berlin.
