Granny commando
The best ideas are often very simple: a commonplace like granny’s kitchen is hardly a buzzword for guests any more, but Jody Scaravella, the owner of Enoteca Maria in New York took the concept one step further: he recruited real grandmothers to cook in the restaurant instead of chefs. Grannies from different parts of the world – representing various cuisines – only work once a week, so they don’t get tired or burn out. The restaurant isn’t really a workplace for them, but more of a place for socialising. //
