Gourmet dishes is the fast food restaurant
The “McGourmet” dinner program first started in 2004, when McDonald's Brazil invited journalists, nutritionists and other lucky guests to an elaborate dinner party featuring a menu of gourmet dishes created by nutritionist Maria Luiza Ctenas, a nutritional consultant for McDonald's Brazil. The twist: The haute cuisine was made only with ingredients found in McDonald’s restaurants.
The event was a hit, and McDonald's now holds an average of 30 dinners throughout Latin America every year. Each original menu is created by a local chef and served with wine paired by a sommelier. The gourmet dishes may not look like the familiar favorites served at McDonald’s, but the original flavor and often the texture of the ingredients are preserved.
Think chicken breast from our Chicken Grill resting on a bed of reduced Coca-Cola, or our 100% pure-beef hamburger patties shaped into polpettones (large meatballs), stuffed with mozzarella cheese normally sprinkled on our Premium Salad.
