GOSZ: spring works under way, but more rain is needed
About 100 millimeters of moisture is missing from the ground, so more rain is needed to the development of autumn cereals and to carry out spring works such as sowing – the President of GOSZ told MTI on Monday.
Vancsura József, President of the National Association of Grain Producers (GOSZ) said that the condition of the autumn cereals is good or moderate. He added that the insect pests and fungal diseases have appeared due to the mild winter on the autumn-sown boards. The farmers are prepared, and are defending the cereals by spraying mainly. He cited rape as an example, where spraying is necessary every 4-5 days. (MTI)
