More than ever possibilities to prohibit the cultivation of products containing GMO
The Member States of the European Union will be given more than ever unprecedented legal opportunities to prohibit the cultivation of plants containing genetically modified organisms (GMO) in their own countries – Darvas Béla, President of GM roundtable stressed on M1 News Channel.
He said that a recently adopted EU amendment allows this.
Now, after the EU legislative changes Hungary can request to get out of the scope of the countries allowing GMO crops – ie, the specie owner does not extend the permission to Hungary – or prohibit the cultivation of such crops for social or economic reasons – the president of the GMO roundtable. told (MTI)
