GKI: a 2.3 percent growth is expected this year
The GKI Economic Research Co. expects a 2.3 percent economic growth and a 0.8 percent inflation this year – Vértes András, CEO of the GKI Economic Research Company announced on Wednesday at a press conference in Budapest.
According to the March forecast of GKI, private consumption will expand by 3 percent in 2016 due to the real income growth, but investment will fall by 5 percent, mainly due to the reduction of EU funds.
Vértes András said that while last year the Hungarian economy grew by more than 1 percentage point faster than the European Union’s average of 1.8 percent, in the beginning of the year forecasts for the Hungarian economy are close both numerically and in trends. (MTI)
