GKI’s consumer confidence index jumped to a one-year high in April
The GKI consumer confidence index jumped to a one-year high of minus 24.5 points in April, but is still significantly below the level of minus 12.1 points in March 2020 before the fall caused by the pandemic – the GKI Gazdaságkutató Zrt. told MTI.
With the increase, the consumer confidence index has been able to cover two-thirds of its fall last April so far. Last April, the indicator stood at minus 49.8 points. In the previous month, in March this year, the value of the indicator was minus 32.6 points.
In April, the population assessed its own financial situation as strongly improving, compared to the previous month, in this area the index was able to bring in 83 percent of the fall last April. (MTI)
