GKI: Hungarian companies perceive the effects of climate change, but do not invest in environmental protection projects
Most Hungarian businesses perceive the effects of climate change, 50 percent of companies have goals related to environmental protection, compared to the EU average of 41 percent; at the same time, only 18 percent of them invested in environmental protection projects – it is clear from the research of GKI Gazdaságkutató Zrt., which it informed MTI about in a statement.
Due to the lack of resources, 15 percent of domestic enterprises only have an environmental protection expert, in the EU this reaches 23 percent, although this is also related to the size of the company and the industry structure, they noted. According to the survey, Hungarian businesses consider the impact of climate change on their business operations to be smaller than their EU counterparts, with only 16 percent expecting a major impact, compared to 23 percent in the EU.
