Giving Friday: dm donates 5% of the turnover to charity
At dm, we will change the “Black Friday” shopping day to “Giving Friday” in 2022 as well, and instead of huge discounts, we will offer 5 percent of the total turnover on November 25th to charity. The logic based on the Black Friday sale does not fit with dm’s corporate philosophy, since in the spirit of the Always worth it strategy, our customers do not even come across shelf sales, we do not participate in coupon days, bidding under each other. The long-term prices do not increase for four months, so they can be calculated, so our goal is for customers to buy the products when they really need them.
It’s really easy to do good!
In order to do good, you don’t need to undertake any extra costs or activities: if someone schedules the shopping that is already due for this Friday, then simply by purchasing it, they are supporting an important initiative. You can experience what it’s like when the focus is on “giving” instead of “getting”. Although our customers cannot come across percentage coupons, they can instead experience what it’s like when they support and help an important social cause.
Healthy foods? We’ll show you how!
And what cause can our customers support this year? We live in times when questions of sustainability are unavoidable, while the economic environment holds more and more uncertainty. This year, we tried to combine sustainability and social aspects by embracing a topic that has been important to us for a long time. Supporting a healthy lifestyle has been a priority area for dm since the beginning, so we donate 5% of our turnover to the project of the Ecological Agricultural Research Institute (ÖMKi) and the Green Circle association, so that anyone can try the tricks of organic farming. Another professional partner of the project is the Association of Environmental Protection Services and Manufacturers. The implementation of the project will start in the spring of 2023.
