Márton Nagy consulted with the leaders of the largest trade association and store chains about the mandatory promotions – the Ministry of Economic Development (GFM) informed MTI on Tuesday.
The announcement highlighted: the government’s goal is to reduce sanctioned inflation to single digits by the end of the year. For this a number of measures have already been decided, these measures are working, inflation peaked in January and started to decrease.
At the same time, the government is constantly investigating what further steps can contribute to lowering prices, so it recently decided to introduce mandatory promotions. Social consultation of the measure is currently underway.
Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy and Márton Nobilis, the Secretary of State responsible for the food industry and trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, jointly received the leaders of the largest retail chains in two separate meetings as part of the social consultation, GFM announced.
