GfK: decline on the IT and office equipment market
According to the datas of the GfK Retail and Technology area, on the market of consumer durables in this year's first quarter – after a relatively strong Christmas season – the trade turnover was about 13 percent more moderate, what resulted the 7 percent decrease of the brown and white goods, photography, IT and office equipment revenues.
Thanks to the flat panel TVs, the consumer electronics market has suffered the smallest loss. This year, the sales of Tablet PCs are likely to grow.
Beside the pioneer Apple iPod many brands can be found on the market now, and cheap Chinese products are appearing on the market one after another. Portable PC category has strongly decreased by 17 percent.
