Markit’s euro area PMI indicator indicates a decline in GDP for the fourth quarter
The performance of the euro area economy deteriorated less than expected in November, compared with the previous month, but it also predicts a decline in gross domestic product in the fourth quarter, according to the IHS Markit Institute for Economic Research’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI).
In November, the final value of the composite PMI derived from euro area manufacturing and services purchasing managers’ indices was 45.3 points, after the 50.0 points of October. The preliminary value indicated a larger decrease at 45.1 points. (MTI)
