Grain growers: there is a large difference in crop yields at mid-harvest
There are large differences in cereal yields at half-time of the harvest; The quality of the crops is good, but the volume may fall short of last year – the chairman of the National Association of Cereal Producers (GOSZ) told MTI on Monday.
Vancsura József said that the extreme weather conditions have significantly influenced the yield; in many places damaging the grain with inland water, ice or drought. As an example, wheat was mentioned, with yields of 3.1 and 9.0 tonnes per hectare. The quality of the crop is good, about 60 percent of the wheat can be nutrition quality. (MTI)
