Auchan recalls smoked, sliced bacon and foie gras
Auchan has recalled smoked, sliced bacon and foie gras due to microbiological contamination and an unmarked allergen, the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) told MTI on Friday.
According to the information, Auchan Hungary Kft. initiated a consumer recall of Auchan Tipp 100-gram smoked, sliced bacon due to microbiological contamination (Listeria Monocytogenes), which can cause bacterial disease, listeriosis. Consumption of the affected product with a best-before date of August 12, 2025 may pose a health risk. The company, in cooperation with the authority, took the necessary measures within its own jurisdiction, ensuring the withdrawal of the disputed item from circulation and its recall from consumers.
The other 125-gram Auchan Nívó goose liver, which has been recalled, contains an unspecified allergen, soy, and may pose a health risk to consumers who are sensitive to it. The best-before dates for the affected products are July 8 and July 27. In this case, too, the authority will monitor the measures taken by the company and the further fate of the recalled products (destruction or disposal), they wrote.
