A jelly candy was recalled because of the danger of suffocation
Due to the risk of suffocation, Jelly mini Cups gels have been recalled by the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) and are asking customers not to consume the product under any circumstances, from which, according to current information, it has arrived in several retail outlets.
According to the information published on Nébih’s website, the Danish authorities found during the inspection that additives (carrageenan and locust bean) which alter the texture of the product in such a way as to cause suffocation. Carrageenan and locust bean meal are otherwise used in food additives, including for thickening and emulsifying food. (MTI)
