FruitVeb: One third of the expected apple crop will have eating quality

In terms of the quality of the expected apple harvest, one third will have eating quality, and two thirds will be industrial raw material – Domján Erika, managing director of the FruitVeb Hungarian Vegetables and Fruit Interprofessional Organization and Product Council told M1 news channel on Thursday.

This year the average apple harvest is expected to be 550-600 thousand tons. The quality of the apple was worsened by the April frosts, but the current weather is not beneficial for the fruit as well – she added. (MTI)
