Magazine: Breweries, bartenders and beer lovers

Beer consumption is falling and Hungarians are buying HUF 100 beers in hypermarkets by the dozen. Luckily, there is an ever-wider group of people who know that the world of beers goes beyond the Pils frontier. Special festivals can do a lot for educating the average Hungarian about the culture of beer drinking. Early October the best Hungarian breweries brought their best products and novelties to the Brewery Festival in Budapest. For instance Grabanc brewery did not only bring beers but also bites of food to accompany them. At most kiosks service was correct, drawing beer up to the mark in the glass. Let’s mention that there were organisational problems as well: some of the kiosks arrived half a day late and certain breweries were unable to cool their beers for quite a while – hopefully these annoyances will not occur next year.
