The Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK) is urging the establishment of a 50 billion HUF Budapest Crisis Management Fund to rescue tourism companies in a dramatic situation.

According to the proposal, the majority of the fund would be added by the capital and the districts of Budapest in the amount of 45-45% in exchange for the subsidies that have not been paid so far. According to the idea, the government could contribute to the initiative with the remaining 5 billion, HUF as well as tax exemptions and preferential investment loans. With 75 million HUF, in proportion to the total budget, BKIK would also join the fund. The chamber’s package of proposals also includes wage subsidies, spending cuts, consumption incentives, renovation subsidies and retraining.
