Hot meals from Kecskemét for the country’s needy
Nissin Foods Kft. offered 155,000 servings of instant noodles as end-of-winter support to needy people and families for the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület. The Association delivers the donations to the needy within a few days through the national food rescue and distribution network.
February 7, 2023 – For the eighteenth year now, the Magyar Élélmiszerbank Egyesület has been searching for and collecting surplus but usable supplies from manufacturers and commercial chains. The organization provides help to needy people and families with products that are typically close to expiration or with faulty packaging, and 250,000 people benefit from their donations every year. Nature also benefits by saving food, as surpluses are not wasted this way, and the environment is not burdened by their decomposition.
Our company’s philosophy is that “World peace will come when there is enough food for everyone” – following this to this day, social responsibility is extremely important to us, not only locally, but also nationally. Donating has now become a part of our everyday life, so we not only supported our employees with a one-time utility subsidy, but also those in need, who are especially burdened by the extraordinary rise in food and energy prices.” – said Katalin Gyarmati, head of HR at Nissin Foods Kft.
