Revolutionary tomato harvesting robot for the greenhouse cultivation of the future
TTA-ISO has unveiled its latest development, a fully automated tomato harvesting robot, at the Fruit Logistica exhibition in Berlin. The new technology, which will be available on the market from 2026, could bring a promising change in greenhouse cultivation, reducing dependence on human labor and increasing efficiency, writes Agrarszektor.
The cutting-edge innovation of the future of agriculture
The tomato harvesting robot is a groundbreaking technological solution that fully automates the harvesting process. The equipment uses Robovision’s advanced vision software, which uses artificial intelligence to detect ripeness. The system is compatible with standard heating rails (550-600 mm) and has a 3D-controlled intelligent robot navigation system that ensures maximum plant protection and optimized harvesting speed.
Efficiency and Food Safety
The TTA-ISO robot can harvest up to 450 plants per hour, while the automated disinfection system increases food safety and hygiene. This development could be particularly attractive to commercial greenhouses, where fast and reliable harvesting is key to maintaining productivity.
Labor optimization and cost reduction
One of the biggest advantages of the technology is the reduction in labor requirements. A single operator can oversee the operation of up to six robots, significantly reducing labor costs while maintaining a consistent and reliable harvest rate. By reducing human labor, the robot minimizes the risk of contamination, further enhancing food safety compliance.
