The European Fresh Campaign continues
The European Fresh Campaign continues, with the program planning to reach up to 1.2 million children. As the first fresh Hungarian vegetables appear on store shelves and markets in spring – crunchy month-old radishes, fragrant spring onions or fresh salads – a new national initiative will soon put the flavors of the season in the spotlight, because “Every flavor is an adventure – five times a day”.

The European Fresh Campaign will continue in the coming weeks with the active participation of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK), promoting the consumption of fresh vegetables and fruits in our country. The program primarily addresses children aged 6-17 and their families, and aims to make fresh, seasonal ingredients a natural and attractive part of everyday meals.
March and April are one of the most exciting times for fresh Hungarian vegetables.
This is when prime vegetables from domestically grown crops appear in larger quantities, and later – in the second half of April – the open-field vegetable season begins with asparagus. Thanks to domestic producers, a wide range of fresh radishes, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and leafy greens are available at this time, which are not only tasty but also reliable in quality. These vegetables are perfect for lighter spring dishes and provide an ideal basis for family meals – whether on weekdays or at the festive table.
The initiative is a continuation of the successful campaigns of recent years – the European Fresh Adventures and the European Fresh Team programs.
The new program is planned to involve content creators and well-known opinion leaders, who will creatively present the diversity of fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as how these ingredients get from the farm to the family table. The three-year program aims to reach up to 1.2 million children and young people in Hungary and encourage them in an inspiring and experiential way to make fresh vegetables and fruits a regular part of their daily diet. The organizers will announce the details of this year’s program of the European Fresh Action at the end of April – just when domestic prime vegetables appear in larger quantities in stores and markets. The European Fresh Action program is an educational campaign of the National Agricultural Committee (NAK), which aims to promote vegetable and fruit consumption among children and families raising children. The program draws attention to the fact that fresh vegetables and fruits are easily accessible, quick to prepare and very healthy. The European Fresh Action program has already run in Hungary in two periods between 2018 and 2020, and then between 2021 and 2023.
