Prices in agriculture continue to fall
The production price level of agricultural products was down 0.6 percent in May 2010. In April the fall was 5.7 percent in comparison with the same month last year – informs KSH’s quick report. In May vegetable product prices only decreased by 0.1 percent – this happened despite the trend that the production price of potato and vegetables increased by 11.1 percent and 13.6 percent, respectively. Fruit products cost 21.8 percent less than a year before. The main reason behind this was the fall in prices. Cereal production prices were 0.9 percent lower than a year earlier. Slaughter livestock production prices reduced by 6.3 percent; the biggest decrease was 13.8 percent, in the price of slaughter pig.
