The price of bread is constantly rising
Minister of Agriculture István Nagy announced that the price of bread starts at 875 forints, but the price of the grain in it is only 53 forints. Despite the fact that the price of raw materials is falling, the price of bread is constantly being raised in stores, Economx reported.
In the recent period, we experienced significant inflation in Hungary. According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), consumer prices increased by an average of 3.6 percent in March compared to the same period of the previous year. Compared to February, an increase of 0.8 percent was registered.
Food prices have increased significantly compared to the previous year. The price of flour rose by 20 percent, that of eggs by more than 19 percent, and that of dry pasta by 13 percent. And the price of bread costs 10 percent more than before.
