Peanuts and millet balls were withdrawn from circulation
The National Food Chain Safety Office (NÉBIH) withdrew extruded peanuts, lightly salted or flavored Tesco Organic bio millet balls from circulation, because their atropine and scopolamine content is high, which can cause diseases in children – the NÉBIH told on Thursday.
According to the communication, the two substances are not dangerous to adults, but in case of children, the atropine and scopolamine affects the functions of the central and autonomic nervous system, it can cause dry mouth, mydriasis, abnormal heart rhythm, and other neurological symptoms. Although long-term sustained effect can not be observed in case of detection of symptoms you should go to a doctor – the NÉBIH told. (MTI)
