Hungarian manufacturers and excellent quality in focus
Retail chain COOP organised the 9th Coop Rally between 11 and 13 September 2014. Coop Rally promotes Hungarian groceries and fosters cooperation in the domestic FMCG sector.
This year those who entered the rally drove around West Hungary, visiting manufacturers and retailers for two days. Minister of Agriculture Dr Sándor Fazekas was the patron of the two-day event. Nearly 70 companies entered the rally, representing a combined annual turnover of HUF 2,000 billion and together with the Coop Group employing more than 50,000 people. Lajos Csepeli, chairman of the board of directors of CO-OP Hungary Zrt. told at the event’s press conference: Coop Rally not only promotes Hungarian groceries but also gives an insight into market players lives, by this strengthening cooperation. Róbert Zsigó, state secretary for food chain supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture stressed that Hungarian consumers should buy as many Hungarian groceries as possible and events like the Coop Rally can help in achieving this goal.
