Due to the increasingly serious milk market crisis, the Milk Interprofessional Organization and Product Council and the Hungarian Product Nonprofit Kft. are organizing a campaign targeting consumers – the participants of the cooperation told MTI on Monday.

In the dairy crisis affecting the whole of Europe, a trademark can help consumers make responsible decisions and make them aware that they can support Hungarian producers and processors in this way – they wrote.

The campaign focuses on drawing the attention of consumers to Hungarian dairy products with a trademark when purchasing, so that they can responsibly choose domestically produced goods. The Milk Heart markings will be placed on packaging and informational devices placed in stores

– they announced.

According to the announcement, the boost in consumption is necessary due to the decrease in milk purchase prices. In several EU member states, this no longer even reaches the cost level, so the profitability of milk producers and processors has deteriorated, which also threatens jobs and development investments.

The Milk Products Council is confident that the market crisis can be resolved in the next six months, and that Hungarian products will be sold despite the dumping prices. Trademarked goods can only be made from Hungarian milk raw materials and in domestic plants, and in many of their characteristics they may even exceed the requirements of food regulations – they added.
