Katjes to buy dental care brands from Henkel
Katjes has announced the acquisition of Henkel’s oral care business, including the brand rights, through its subsidiary Bübchen Bodycare. The acquired brands generated net sales of more than €50 million in the last financial year and are expected to be profitable.
The acquisition concerns, among others, Theramed: 2in1 oral toothpaste in Germany, Vademecum organic toothpaste in France, Licor del Polo organic toothpaste in Spain and Antica Erboristeria herbal oral and hair care brand in Italy.
The transaction is expected to close today. The company will finance the acquisition partly through an acquisition loan.
Tobias Bachmüller, managing partner of Katjes International, said,
“After the acquisition of Bübchen from Nestlé/Galderma in 2020, we are delighted to acquire further strong brands in this area from a large and reliable partner like Henkel”.
