Next year 43 billion HUF (about 35-40 thousand HUF per families) will remain at the families as the result of the food VAT cut.
Fazekas Sándor, Minister of Agriculture told on Friday in Budapest at a press conference that every family is affected by the reduction of the value added tax (VAT) on food products, but it is especially important for families with children, pensioners and people with low-income that VAT on fresh milk was reduced from 18 percent to 5 percent, while egg and poultry meat VAT from 27 to 5 percent. The value added tax on restaurant meals will be reduced from 27 to 18 percent. (MTI)
