Young talent, Szécsi Böbe, composed the music for SPAR’s new commercial
The KEMP songwriting camp, organized by Banana Records, was held in Csopak for the fourth time, providing a joint opportunity for Hungarian musicians and songwriters working in various styles to create, improvise and experiment. The main sponsor, SPAR Hungary, assigned the enterprising campers a creative task: they were asked to compose commercial music. The catchy, dynamic composition of singer-songwriter-producer Szécsi Böbe, who participated in the camp, debuted in May in the company’s new Regnum commercial.
Szécsi Böbe participated in the KEMP camp for the first time, and as he said, it was a truly special experience for him, as he was able to work with people from rap to alternative music segments, such as Lil Frakk, Milán Valkusz, Vincenzo Pellechia, Marci Mehringer or FRANKO.
“It was very exciting working together. At the request of SPAR, our task was to create the music for their Regnum commercial. I have been interested in the world of commercial music for years, so it was a great pleasure to try my hand at it. The music produced is not entirely my usual style: the final result is a bit faster, more dynamic, which I arranged all by myself, from vocals to instruments. The final result is a more instrumental, catchy song, in my opinion, and I am very happy that my music was finally chosen for the Regnum commercial.”
Böbe grew up in a real artistic family: his twin sister, Saci, is also a singer and music producer, his other brother is a painter, and his older brother is a classical composer. His parents are also music lovers, and his father has a huge record collection, so music was constantly playing in the Szécsi family. So the children also grew up playing music, Böbe started writing her own songs at the age of 13, and has been actively performing since the age of 19. A milestone in her life is that she joined the Belau formation in 2017, where she was the permanent singer of the live lineup. They toured Europe and America with the electronic music formation.
“I performed for the first time at one of the club concerts of my singing studio at the time when I was 13, of course I was terribly nervous. Since then I have gained a lot of experience: I was on The Voice, we played with Belau in front of Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda, and in 2022 I was able to perform independently in front of Halott Pénz at the Papp László Sportaréna. I produced my debut album entirely myself. At first I wrote these in English, but in recent years I have become increasingly attracted to the Hungarian language.”
