Procter & Gamble’s new sustainable packaging innovation
The FMCG giant will use renewable and sustainable plastics from sugar cane in the packaging of its Pantene Pro-V, Cover Girl and Max Factor brands.
During the manufacturing of the new packaging material, first ethanol will be obtained from sugar cane, that will be developed into HDPE plastics. The resulting product is fully recyclable plastic.
The P & G estimates that the change of the packaging will last two years on international level. The first sustainable packaged products may be marketed in 2011 – reports marketinginfo.hu.
