This year's sunflower crop surpassed all expectations
Despite the changeable weather, this year was great for the sunflower producers. Thanks to the high purchase prices and the high yield, they will close the season with a nice profit – told Syngenta Ltd. to MTI on Wednesday.
Sunflower acreage-area has increased significantly this year, compared with last year: According to the datas of the Agricultural Office; this year it was about 575,000 hectares, which is a 3 percent increase compared to last year. The nationwide average yield per hectare was 2.4 tons, surpassing all expectations – reports MTI.
